Spotlighting Joslynn: Why I’m More Than a Stepmom

There was a season in my life when the title "stepmom" felt like it defined me completely—and for good reason. I met my husband when his kids were just 2, 4, and 5. From the beginning, I stepped into the role of caregiver, comforter, advocate, and bonus mom—all without the official title.

At the time, my husband had majority custody, so most of our date nights looked a lot like “family nights.” And you know what? I wouldn’t change it for the world. But as the years passed, and our family grew (hello, ours baby!), I started to notice something: I was losing parts of me outside of my role as a stepmom.

This post is for any woman who’s ever asked herself, "Who am I beyond this title? "The answer? So much more.

The Evolution of My Identity

The stepmom journey will always be a central part of my story. It shaped me, stretched me, and refined me. But it’s not all of me.

I’m also:

• A certified coach with a passion for helping women grow

• A podcast host reaching women across the globe

• A wife, a mom, a friend, a sister, and a woman of deep faith

• A travel lover, spa junkie, coffee enthusiast, and wine connoisseur

For a long time, I felt I had to choose which version of myself to show—especially online. But this year, something shifted. I felt a deep pull to no longer compartmentalize who I am, but to integrate it. That’s how Flourish Co. was born.

Flourish Co. is more than a brand—it reflects this next season of my life. It’s coaching for women who want to stop surviving in their roles and start thriving in their identity.
