StepmomCon 2025: Navigating Full-Time Stepmom Life as Kids Grow Older

It’s been over three years since I last spoke as a "Stepmom" speaker, and this year, I’m thrilled (and honestly a little nervous in the best way) to share that I’ll be speaking at StepmomCon 2025!
They say with age comes wisdom and while that’s true, I’ve also learned that in stepmom life, wisdom doesn’t mean the drama disappears. We all hope that as the years pass and the kids grow older, things magically “settle down.” But in reality? The challenges just take on a new form.
When you’re a full-time stepmom, the dynamics shift constantly. Kids get older, boundaries blur, and the issues you faced at the beginning evolve into new ones:
What truths do you share—and what’s better left unsaid?
How do you give your kids freedom while still guiding them?
What do you do when the two households have drastically different rules and expectations?
These are the questions I’ll be diving into during my open Q&A session at StepmomCon. Because, whether you’re just starting this journey or you’ve been walking it for years, stepmom life asks us to grow, adapt, and find new ways to lead with both grace and grit.
For me, stepping back into speaking after a few years feels like a full-circle moment. My passion has always been to create safe spaces for women, especially stepmoms, to feel seen, heard, and supported. And there’s something powerful about gathering with women who “get it” without having to explain yourself.
Want to attend StepmomCon with me? I’d love for you to!

With love, Joslynn
